Richard A. “Rick” Brnik
Richard A. “Rick” Brnik, 77, of Grassflat, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his residence.
Rick was born on April 5, 1947, in Philipsburg, Pa, a son of the late Catherine B. Brnik.
Rick was a 1965 graduate of the West Branch Area High School. Following high school, he furthered his education at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and graduated from their electrical program.
Early in his working career, Rick was employed with Tate Electric of State College and the former Philipsburg location of Wolf’s Furniture. He accepted a position in the early 1980’s as an electrician / building maintenance with Raytheon of State College. He remained with them until his retirement in 2012.
Rick was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Grassflat; and he currently attended St. Severin Catholic Church, Drifting. He was a member of the FCSU, Jednota Lodge #333K; and a very active member and past officer of the Grassflat Fire Co.
Rick was married on April 12, 1969, in Grassflat, to the former Andrea E. Kushner, who survives at home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Angela M. Busatto and her husband, Donald, of Orange Park, Florida and Nicole E. Brnik, of Greenville, North Carolina; two sons, Richard A. “Rich” Brnik, Jr., of Grassflat and Brian J. Brnik, of Cleveland, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Brittnee D. Busatto, Eric A. Busatto, Catherine L. Busatto, Hayden C. Brnik and Annabelle C. Brnik; one great-granddaughter, Brinley R. Brnik; and numerous other extended family members.
Rick was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan A. Brnik, in addition to his mother.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2 pm, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Grassflat, with Rev. William Barron, celebrant.
Interment will be in SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Winburne for immediate family only.
Following the funeral Mass, the family kindly invites you to join them for a reception to celebrate the life of Richard at the social hall at
St. Severin in Drifting where we can share some memories, support, and food.
