William E. Wood
William E. “Bill” Wood, 47, of Philipsburg, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at UPMC Passavant – McCandless, Pittsburgh, Pa.
William was born on May 4, 1977, in Clearfield, a son of William J. and Martha (DeSalvo) Wood, who survive of Philipsburg.
He was a 1995 graduate of the Philipsburg – Osceola Area High School.
Early in his working career, Bill was employed with Lee Industries. He then accepted a position as a plumber with Roto-Rooter and had been employed with them for the past fifteen years.
He was married on June 9, 2001, in Philipsburg, to the former Lindy E. Shimmel, who survives at home.
He is also survived by a daughter, Haylee Lynn Wood, who survives at home; two sisters, Theresa Root, of Philipsburg and Margaret Wood and her companion, Jeremy Sedlak, of Munson; two nieces, a nephew and numerous other extended family members.
Bill was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Bill was a member of the Black Bear Hunting Camp, RD Philipsburg. Among his favorite pastimes, he loved spending time with his family; he cherished the time he spent with his best friends; he loved his four-legged brown buddy , Daisy, the family’s Labrador Retriever; going on “Jeep rides” and spending time in the woods hunting.
The family will celebrate Bill’s life and receive guests on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4 until 7 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, Pa 16866.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Bill’s memory to the funeral home.
