Virginia L. “Ginger” Way, 77, of West Decatur, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

Virginia was born on February 10, 1945, in Sandy Ridge, a daughter of the late Alvin Augustine St. Clair Vaughn and Gertrude Alverta (Osewalt) Vaughn Herbert.

She was employed as a home health nursing aide early in her working career. She was also employed in the housekeeping department with Best Western in Clearfield.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Allen Vaughn; a half-sister, Gertrude Harpster; a half-brother, Earle Clinton “Skip” Osewalt; and her longtime companion, Carl Spencer.

Ginger is survived by her son, Alvin V. Way, Sr.; two grandchildren, Kellie F. Way and Alvin V. Way, Jr., and his wife, Jerri Lee; one step-granddaughter, Dawn Reams and her husband, Eric; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alverta M. Hockenberry; a half-sister, Jennie Herbert; a brother, Thomas Vaughn; a half-brother, George Herbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm.

Burial will be in Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Lanse, at the convenience of the family.
