Norma Ara Soltis
Norma Ara Soltis of Golden Living Community-Hillview, Altoona, PA and formerly of Hawk Run, PA passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Golden Living Community-Hillview, in Altoona PA.
She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret (Remick) Wilsoncroft, born on November 4, 1929 in Clearfield, PA. She married John Louis Soltis, Jr. on April 21, 1953 in Winchester, VA. He survives her in Clearfield, PA.
Mrs. Soltis was a member of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run, PA.
She was originally employed as a secretary in Washington, DC. She later returned to the Philipsburg area where she worked for the A & P Supermarket, the General Cigar plant, and Charles Navasky & Company, until retiring. Norma was a 1946 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon T. Wilsoncroft.
Along with her Husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Anna Marie English & her husband David of Emporium, PA, and Amy Lynn Lockey & her husband James of Hawk Run, PA; a son, John L. “Buddy” Soltis, III & his wife Phyllis of Hawk Run, PA; and a sister, Anna Pollock of Munson, PA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Thaddeus English of Elizabeth City, NC; Carissa E. Bailey & her husband P.J. of Wellington, FL; Melissa Soltis & her fiance Joe Donato of St. Cloud, FL; Alyson Hokanson & her husband Chris of Culpeper, VA; Carl Barquist of FL; John Barquist of Hawk Run; a great-grandson, Zander English of Elizabeth City, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a future date at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run, PA. Burial will be at the Stoneville Cemetery, RD West Decatur, PA.
There will be no public visitation.
