Ronald R. “Ronnie” Lowder
Ronald R. “Ronnie” Lowder, 78, of Mill Hall, and formerly of West Decatur, died Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Wynwood House, Boalsburg.
Ronnie was born on March 19, 1946, in Wallaceton, a son of the late Leroy S. and Susie I. (Knepp) Lowder.
He was a 1964 graduate of the Philipsburg – Osceola Area High School.
During his working career, Ronnie was employed as a fuel truck deliveryman with the former J. W. Pritchard. However, he was employed for most of his career with the Centre County Solid Waste Authority in the maintenance department until his retirement in 2011.
Ronnie was a member of the Clearfield Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #97, Morrisdale. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; Poker card games and Pinochle; he loved shooting pool and teaching novices the art and techniques of the game; and he enjoyed working on his Sudoku, crossword puzzles and trivia games. During his younger years, he enjoyed working with his brother, Norman, on racing their car at the local area dirt tracks.
Ronnie was married on April 6, 1968, in Clearfield, to the former Eileen C. Johnston, who survives at home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Nina L. Cowart and her husband, Devlon L., of Mill Hall and Jodi L. Ennis and her husband, John Robert “Bobby,” of North Carolina; three grandchildren: Talia and Wesley Cowart, of Mill Hall, and Darian Ennis, of North Carolina; a sister, Dora Mae Knepp and her husband, Harold “Spark,” of Wallaceton; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Lowder and Cathy Lowder, both of Wallaceton; and numerous other extended family members.
Ronnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Larry Lowder, in addition to his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 3 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Pastor Chester Marshall, officiating.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 pm until the time of the service.
The family would like extend an invitation for their guests to join them for a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the funeral service at the Clearfield Moose Lodge #97, 2375 Wallaceton Morrisdale Rd., Morrisdale, Pa.
