Susan Anna Hynd
Susan Anna (Sweed) Hynd, 76, of Philipsburg, passed away at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 4:45 am.
Susan was born on February 24, 1945, in Irvona, a daughter of the late Franklin Roosevelt Sweed, Sr. and Mary Christina (Smith) Mooney. She was raised in the Clearfield County Children’s Home and later adopted by Paul & Willmena (Fegan) Rosenberg of Coalport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Archie McClain Hynd; two brothers, Francis William Mooney and Lewis Earl Sweed; and one sister, Sara Elizabeth Sweed.
She is survived by her brothers, Franklin Sweed, of La Jose and Vincent (Judy) Sweed, of Dubois; two sisters, Jane (James) Huber of Chester Hill and Barbara Czar of Conneaut Lake; a son, Jess Gregory III, of Winburne, a daughter, Kim (Dean) Klingler, of Bigler, a son, Paul Gregory, of Volcano, Hawaii, a step-son, Thomas (Penny) Hynd, of Osceola Mills, a step-daughter, Jenny Sankey, of Byrnedale, and a step-son, Donald Hynd, of Osceola Mills; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
The family also extends its deepest gratitude to Darl Hummel and his daughter Dorthy Klingler for their love and support they provided to Susan during her final years.
Prior to her marriage with Mr. Hynd, Susan was the former Mrs. Jess Gregory Jr., of Coalport; and the former Mrs. Lawrence Cliber, of Port Matilda.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at later date where her cremains will be laid to rest at the Summit Hill Cemetery, RD Morrisdale, alongside her late husband, Archie.
