Darlene D. Harper
Darlene D. Harper, 84, of Philipsburg, died Monday, February 3, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Darlene was born on December 16, 1940, in (Belsena Mills) RD Madera, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rosella (Wilkes) Draisey.
She was a 1958 graduate of the Moshannon Valley School District.
Darlene was employed in various capacities throughout her working career with the Philipsburg – Osceola Area School District.
She was married on September 2, 1967, in Philipsburg, to J. Daniel Harper, who preceded her in death on August 24, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Madge Wiseman and Virginia “Ginny” Clark; and four brothers: Calvin, Forrest, Bernard and John Draisey, in addition to her parents and husband, Daniel.
Darlene is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Canner and her husband, Ethan; a son, James H. Harper and his wife, Dawn; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Connor Harper, all of Philipsburg. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Bryant, of Florida and Phebe Tubo, of Niagara Falls, NY; a brother, Gene Draisey and his wife, Jeanne, of Johnstown, Pa.; and numerous other extended family members.
Darlene was a member of the gFree Church, (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg.
A graveside memorial service will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, (Tyrone Pike) RD Philipsburg, on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Noon, with Pastor Noel Meyers, officiating.
