William D. “Frenchy” Gormont, 64, of Philipsburg, and formerly of Frenchville, died Monday, April 17, 2023, at his residence.

William was born on June 21, 1958, in Clearfield, a son of the late Ferdnand C. Gormont and Jean M. Gormont-Rougeux.

He attended the Clearfield Area High School.

He was a logger by trade and owned his own logging company prior to his retirement.

Frenchy was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed 4-wheeler riding,  cooking, fishing, gardening and a cold beer.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristi M. Anspach and her husband, Ryan, of Milton; his son, David G. Gormont and his wife, Jillian;  two grandchildren: Daven Gormont and Sydnee Mowrey, all of Kylertown; four brothers: Jeffrey Gormont and his wife, Carol, of Clearfield, Wayne Gormont, of Erie, Timothy Gormont, of Clearfield and Delmont Rougeux, Jr., of Frenchville; and numerous other extended family members.

There will be no public services.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
