Eva H. Bumbarger
Eva H. Bumbarger, 92, of Philipsburg, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Eva was born on February 17, 1933, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Walter L. and Josephine (Knowles) Sheehan.
She was a 1951 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
Eva was employed with a number of Philipsburg area businesses throughout her working career. She was first employed with the former Cowdrick’s Drug Store; she then worked for several area factories that included: the former General Cigar plant, the former McGregor’s Clothing factory and the former Viceroy plant (Osceola Mills). Later in her career, she was employed at the Holt Memorial Library and then the former Hallmark store in Philipsburg until her retirement in 2001.
Eva was of Christian faith and enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, and particularly loved holiday gatherings with her entire family.
She is survived by three daughters: Patricia A. Jackson and her husband, David, Eva A. Barnett and her husband, Alan and Susan K. Bezilla and her husband, Daniel, all of Philipsburg; six grandchildren: David Jackson and his wife, Cher, Melanie (Jackson) Fleck and her husband, T.J., Jessica (Barnett) Yoder and her husband, Mose, Christopher Barnett and his wife, Stacie, Tyler Bezilla and his wife, Charlee and Lucas Bezilla; nine great-grandchildren: Taylor and David Jackson; Nathan and Natalee Fleck; Benjamin, Gertie and Elliot Yoder; Tessa and Payton Barnett; and expected baby Artie Bezilla.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Clair A. Bumbarger; a brother, Walter Sheehan; two sisters, H. Ann Johnson and E. Patricia “Patsy” Crawford; and a great-granddaughter, Carina Barnett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11 am, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Rev. Ted G. Seibert, officiating.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
