Dorothy A. Bainey
Dorothy A. Bainey, 98, of Philipsburg, PA died on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg, PA.
She was the daughter of the late John & Helen (Sinfeldt) Starck, born on January 20, 1916 in Munson, PA. She married Alvin H. Bainey on January 11, 1935 in Cumberland, MD; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1982.
Mrs. Bainey was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Philipsburg and was a member of the Clearfield and Philipsburg Senior Citizen Centers. She was a 1933 graduate of the Philipsburg Area High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, exercising, telling stories and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Barbara (Bainey) Howe; a sister, Alma McKim; and two brothers, Woodrow and Robert Starck.
Mrs. Bainey is survived by: two daughters, Arlene Piggott & her husband Tom of Tallmadge, OH and Linda Reed of Hyde, PA; two sons, Donald R. Bainey & his wife Phyllis of Tallmadge, OH and Walter H. Bainey & his wife Peg of Atwater, OH; and a brother, John Starck of Philipsburg, PA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 East Spruce Street, Philipsburg, PA; with Rev. Robert Way officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 28, 2014 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
