Nathan Andrew Brnik
Nathan Andrew Brnik, 21, of West Decatur, died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.
Nathan was born on August 8, 1996, in Clearfield, a son of Richard A. “Rich” Brnik, Jr., of Grassflat and Christine M. Melius, and her companion, Jesse Zimmerman, Jr., of West Decatur.
Nathan was a 2014 graduate of the West Branch Area High School. He was a member of the IBEW, Local 1919; and employed as a 2nd. Class climber / tree trimmer with Asplundh, Willow Grove.
He is survived by his fiancée, Gabrielle Elizabeth Reffett and their daughter, Brinley Renee Brnik, both at home; a brother, Curtis J. Cole and his fiancée, Sarah Williams, of Lock Haven; his maternal grandmother, Joan Green and her husband, Harold, of Woodland; and his paternal grandparents, Richard “Rick” and Andrea Brnik, of Grassflat, in addition to his parents. Nathan is also survived by his best friend, who he considered like a brother, Cody Hudish, of Kylertown.
Nathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William I. Melius.
He was best known by his nickname “Jesus,” to his close family and friends. His employment skills carried over to his personal life as he enjoyed working on side projects involving cutting and climbing trees. He also enjoyed working on vehicles, “tinkering” on various pieces of equipment as well as spending family time with his daughter.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 1:00 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Deacon Robert Hoover, officiating.
Interment will be in SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Winburne.
