Gilbert L. Hale
Gilbert L. Hale, 79, of Philipsburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, PA.
He was the son of the late Leroy S. and Lola Mae (Gill) Hale, born on December 29, 1933 in Winburne, PA. He married the former Nelda D. Parkes on March 21, 1959 in Winchester, VA. She survives him at home.
He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Philipsburg. Gilbert served in the Army from 1956-1958 and was a member of the Centre Hill Grange.
He had been a truck driver for Davis Trucking in Munson and Hawbaker Trucking in State College for several years. He and his wife then moved to New York where he was employed with General Electric in Syracuse for 14 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hale was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hale.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a sister, Joan Marie Morris of Kylertown, PA. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hale of Winburne and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, PA, with Pastor Mark Thumma officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
There will be no public visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral home in Philipsburg, PA.
