Bernard M. “Bud Clark
Bernard M. “Bud” Clark, 87, of (New Liberty) RD Philipsburg, died Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Bernard was born on February 23, 1937, in Philipsburg, a son of the late William and Mary (Kelce) Clark.
Although born Bernard, he would come to be known by his family and friends as “Bud.”
He was employed throughout his entire working career as an union painter with the Painter’s Union, Local #409, Greensburg.
He was a longtime and active member of the New Life Center, Philipsburg.
Bud was a self-taught guitar player and one of his favorite pastimes was to play for the residents of the local nursing homes, church congregations and other local venues. Whether it was a session with a group of his family and friends or with the members of his band “The Cornerstones;” he enjoyed sharing his faith in his Lord and Savior with others through this music ministry. He also enjoyed the outdoors; whether it be hunting, fishing or going for a ride on his motorcycle.
Bud was married on June 11, 2005, in the New Life Center, Philipsburg, to the former Clara M. Callahan, who survives at home.
He is also survived by a daughter, Lori Ann Clark, of Houtzdale; four grandchildren: Terry L.(Jr.), Jessica, Samantha and Alan; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Josephson, of Philipsburg and Bonnie Veliky and her husband, Richard, of West Decatur; a brother, Raymond Clark and his wife, Ruby, of Philipsburg; and numerous other extended family members.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, the former Joyce A. Erikson; a son, Terry L. Clark, Sr.; four sisters: Margie Clark, Peggy Hollabaugh, Janette Majewsky and Joyce Dale; three brothers: Eli “Billy”, Thomas and Kenneth Clark; and a step-brother, Max Elmer Reardon.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11 am, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. John Dill, officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm; and on Friday, from 10 am until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
