E. Christine Williams
E. Christine Williams, 96, formerly of Gearhartville, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at Dayspring Personal Care Home, (Forest) RD Morrisdale, Pa.
Christine was born on August 27, 1928, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Samuel Steele and Millie (Ashcroft) Coplin.
She was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
Christine was married on October 22, 1949, to Marvin E. Williams, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2011.
Christine was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed quilting and traveling.
Christine was preceded in death by her four sisters: Alene (Coplin) Millard, Ann (Coplin) Woodside, Esther (Coplin) Achmoody and Mildred “Mig” (Coplin) Gunter and an infant brother, in addition to her parents and husband, Marvin.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Wilks and her husband, Fred G., (Graham Station) RD Philipsburg and Joan C. Williams, of Morrisdale; a son, Allan M. Williams and his wife, Susan, of Munson; three grandchildren: Gary N. Wilks, of (Graham Station) RD Philipsburg, Scott Williams, of Tipton and Rachael Williams, of Pittsburgh; and numerous other extended family members.
The Burial Office will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 406 E. Presqueisle Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Robert McKay, IV, officiant.
The family will receive guests at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Dayspring Personal Care Home and to Penn Highlands Hospice for the love and care that they gave to Christine while she was a resident of the Dayspring community.
