My condolences to the whole family. All I can say is that the loss of Kelley is so sad!
My prayers are with you.

I will always remember you as my sweet, little neighbor girl who loved cats, was very smart and could draw so nicely. I’m glad my son Sid had such a good friend in you growing-up. I’m happy you fulfilled your dreams of a career in Japan. So very sad to learn of this news today. My sympathy to Mike, Barb and sisters.

I am heartbroken about the loss of Kelley. She was my daughter’s best friend in Japan And I got to visit with them in Japan. She was fun, funny, a talented artist, intelligent and had a zest for life. They were two peas in a pod and were inseparable until she moved back to the states. We shared many fun times exploring the areas around Tokyo. She was a bright light and called me mom which immediately endured her to me. My love and prayers for your family in the loss of one so cherished. This is such a tremendous loss not just for you but for all that have known her. We got to video chat for a couple hours on my daughters birthday 12/20/20. She will always have a special place in my heart.

I remember playing in your backyard on your swing set and always running threw the alley ways. You me and Toby and Nick were always hanging out. Everyday and night. I will miss you Kelley so much

My prayers go out to the family. Kelley was such a bright and light spirit and smart as a whip. She was one of my nephew Sid’s greatest friends ever growing up, maybe best. He Kelley and Toby were about the same age as Harry Potter when the movies came out. She will be so missed by all.

It was the evening of 2016, September 10th I met a young woman whilst on holiday in Japan. She was talking to her cat that was poking its head out of her navy blue backpack covered in silver stars sitting on a counter.
That young woman introduced herself to me as Kelley, and something told me I needed to keep in contact with her.
A year later, it was Kelley that made the final nudge for me to make the move to migrate to Japan in 2017, it was Kelley that helped me find my first apartment, start building a network and relationships in Japan. I wouldn’t be enjoying married life in Japan today if it wasn’t for her.
We enjoyed simple mindless playful chatter to deeper long term life goals and scarily serious discussions I did not expect from someone her age, played games, participated in a surprise birthday event she organized, house dinner parties, roamed the streets and more.
She really did influence people and bring them together. For better or for worse sometimes.
She had that unforgettable easy to read smirk on her face telling you that moment when she knew that her plans were unfolding. An unforgettable laugh, and lit up full of life over any common grounds and ideas we had.
I feel she had achieved and influenced more in her short life than many people do in 40+ years.
Although in 2020 we didn’t talk every week, or even every month, she often came to mind. I, amongst many have all been looking forward to her next appearance.
Kelley, sorry I didn’t do the sketch you asked me to make for your cats birthday. It’s still on my to do list!
A friend and a co-worker.
