Mrs. Shore was one of the greats and I loved having her first as a teacher and then as a friend. I will forever remember her songs and the way she taught. She was a shining example of what a teacher should be! I am so sorry for your loss Lisa, and all of her family and friends. A bright light went out the day Mrs. Shore passed on. My heart is broken, but her memory will live on in her family and all of her students. I will speak of her to my grandchildren and pass her songs on. I think I will forever be singing Prepositions, prepositions…… RIP Mrs. Shore and rest easy. Your legacy will live on.

Have many fond memories of working many hours on the stage crew with Mrs. Shore. Enjoyed talking with on many occasions over the years. She brought theatre back to PO for my senior year of 1959 as we moved into the (what was then) new school. Hard to believe it was 60 years ago.

I just lost my very good and close friend. Anytime I would make a trip back home I would call Shirley and tell her….”WE HAD A DATE”! She looked forward to our so called date.
She enjoyed hearing from me and us going out when I got to my hometown. Shirley also edited one of my books I wrote in which I acknowledged her personally in my book her for encouraging me to continue writing. My last phone call to her she asked if I were coming back so we would have another date! I am deeply saddened with her loss. I now have no reason to return back to my hometown for a visit. Shirley was also interested in my “MOVIE ACTING”.

To the family of Mrs. Shore, I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Shore was an amazing teacher, friend, and mentor. She always encouraged me to to write with expression and character. She would tell me, “You are a gifted writer. Don’t waste your talent.” I have not written a novel, but when I do it will be dedicated to Mrs. Shore who was always supportive. Sending prayers and positive energy to all of you as you remember the remarkable Shirley Shore.

My thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Shore family. I didn’t have her as a teacher, but got to know her some through the Philipsburg Historical Society and always enjoyed talking with her.

Shirley will be greatly missed, and she was dearly loved by me and all of her students at PO High School. May the Lord bless and keep her family and give them peace.

I was so sorry to hear of Mrs Shores passing. I was in her play “Our Town” my senior year at PO. It was a great experience for me. It sounds as though her wonderful teaching skills transferred to English after she left the drama scene. Besides her contributions to PO drama/dramatics it sounds like she would be among the pantheons of great PO High School teachers like Marie George, John and Mike Deliman, Ted Grundy. Sorry I never had the opportunity to have had her as an English teacher. My condolences to her family and grandchildren who must miss her still.
