Helen Schnars

Helen Schnars, 99, of Gearhartville, RD Philipsburg, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at her residence.

Born on January 12, 1917 in Patterson, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Amelia (Alexander) Wotowitch.

Mrs. Schnars was a protestant by faith and was a homemaker.

She was married to Merritt A. Schnars, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1970.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Surviving is a son, Donald A. Schnars of Gearhartville; a sister, Josephine Lake of Harrisburg; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services were held at Philipsburg Cemetery with Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating.

Contributions in memory of Mrs. Schnars may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
