John J. Reber, Jr.

 John J. Reber, Jr., 79, a resident of the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield and formerly of Driftwood, PA, died Thursday, June 30, 2016, in Clearfield.

Born on December 29, 1936 in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late John J. Reber, Sr. and Frances (Ludwig) Reber.

Mr. Reber was a protestant by faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.  He was a 1953 graduate of the Muhlenberg High School.

He was a self-employed contractor for many years and was also the Cameron County Assessor until retiring.

In 1958, in Maryland he married the former Lucille Ann Thomas.  She preceded him in death in September 2006.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Reber was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Larry, and Glenn Reber.  He was the last of his generation.

Surviving are three sons, Scott A. Reber and his wife, Debra of Liverpool, PA; James T. Reber and his wife, Donna of Birdsboro, PA; Thomas A. Reber of Ephrata, PA; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.
