David A. “Trig” Lewis
1943 – 2016
David A. “Trig” Lewis, 72, formerly of (North) Philipsburg, died Friday, August 19, 2016, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
Born on Christmas, December 25, 1943, David was a son to the late David F. and Tressa (Contadelucci) Lewis.
David was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg – Osceola Area High School. He was also a graduate of Triangle Tech, DuBois.
David was married on June 1, 1976, in West Decatur, to the former Judith Kay Taszreak, whom preceded him in death on May 26, 2008.
He had served with the Army Reserves.
“Trig” was an accomplished welder and fabricator. He was employed with several area coal companies during his working career including: Stott Coal Co., Bradford Coal Co. and K & J Coal Company. He was also a skilled electrician and plumber. David worked in the maintenance departments at Windy Hill Village, P.S.L., Philipsburg and Empire Kosher, Mifflintown. He was also a business owner. He owned and operated the former Micro-Fusion Storage Tank Disposal, Munson, for a number of years. Most recently, David was employed as a delivery driver for the Centre Daily Times, State College, until his retirement.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by two children, Heather Jo Lewis and David Anthony Lewis, Jr.; and two sisters, Eleanor Earhart and Joan Bracken.
David is survived by a daughter, Jill M. Wayland and her husband, David, and a son, Adam D. Lewis and his companion, Susan Hughes, all of Philipsburg; three granddaughters, Heather Storm and Daisy Marie Wayland, both of Philipsburg, and Erin Elizabeth Simcox, of Lock Haven; two great-granddaughters, Andalyn Constance Richards and Kaylee Brooks Koch, both of Lock Haven; one sister, Jean Schwiderske and her husband, Dan, of Allport; one brother, Charles Lewis, of Topeka, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
