Odessa A. Lamb

Odessa A. Lamb, 93, of Philipsburg died, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Windy Hill Village P.S.L., Philipsburg.

Born February 18, 1922 in Black Oak, Graham Township, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Luella (Sones) Coble.

She was a Methodist by faith. Mrs. Lamb enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a 1940 graduate of the Morris Township High School.

Earlier she had worked at the General Cigar Company and McGregor ‘s Clothing Factory, both of Philipsburg. She was later employed with the maintenance department at Penn State for over 20 years, until her retirement .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Lester Lamb in 1998 and her companion of many years, Chester Wisor. She was also preceded in death by a son, Samuel J. Lamb in 2014; a daughter-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” (Culp) Lamb in 2010; three granddaughters, Beth Ann Lamb, and twin granddaughters, Madalyn and Gwendolyn Lamb; five sisters, Hazel Shemas, Agnes Hubler, Beverly Shucker, Elvada Mucha, Leona Gallagher; and four brothers, Maynard, Leo, Gerald, and Sanford Coble.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by a daughter, Carol DeLucia and her husband, Ronald of Curwensville; three sons, Roger E. Lamb and his wife, Alice of Sanborn, RD Houtzdale; William L. Lamb of Philipsburg; and Paul R. Lamb and his wife, Winnie of Philipsburg; a sister, Leora Quick of Wallaceton ; a daughter-in-law , Nancy J. (Lucas) Lamb; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with Rev. William R. Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Allport Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 12 – 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
