Photo of Robert L. Kyler, Sr.Robert L. Kyler, Sr., 85, of West Decatur died on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his residence.

Born on November 3, 1930 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Jesse and Alma (Kennedy) Kyler.

Mr. Kyler was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a Image of the US Air Force Sealmember of the Clearfield American Legion.  He was also a 1948 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.

He had been employed as a gas truck driver with J.J. Powell of Philipsburg until health reasons forced his retirement.

On January 11, 1953 in Philipsburg, he married the former Frances McGee.  She preceded him in death on August 12, 2001.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Kyler, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Emma Scaife; and numerous brothers and sisters.  He was the last of his generation.

Surviving is a son, Michael J. Kyler and his wife, Kerri of West Decatur, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg with Rev. Kaye Hute officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Kyler may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
