Corrigan, RussellRussell L. Corrigan, 83, of Chester Hill died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on May 5, 1932 in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Samuel Lee and Thelma (Vaughn) Corrigan.Image of the US Army Seal

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Corrigan was a 1950 graduate of the Philipsburg High School and enjoyed fishing, gardening and yard work.

He was employed for a time at the shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad and at the Piper plant at Quehanna. He later was employed for several years at Penn State and lastly worked at the General Cigar factory in Philipsburg for 15 years, until retiring.

On October 22, 1960 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run, he wed the former Anna Mae Cebulka, who survives at home.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Corrigan was preceded in death by an infant son, James Russell Corrigan; four sisters, Mary and Virginia Corrigan, Dorothy Cowell and Anne Stine; and a brother, James Corrigan.

Surviving is his wife; a son, Michael Corrigan and his wife, Pamela of Springfield, Virginia; a grandson, Patrick Aaron Corrigan of Springfield, Virginia; four sisters, Elaine Shaw of Rowland Heights, California, Peggy Moore and her husband, James of Houtzdale, Judith Kephart and her husband, Ronald of Houtzdale, and Elizabeth Kerr and her husband, Richard of Houtzdale; five brothers, Gary Corrigan and his wife, Doris of Ramey, Samuel Corrigan and his wife, Marie of Pleasant Gap, Thomas Corrigan and his wife, Darlene of Port Matilda, John Corrigan of Philipsburg, Robert Corrigan and his wife, Charlene of Port Matilda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg with Rev.Peter Cebulka, nephew of the deceased, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Philipsburg, where members of the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard will accord military honors.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 5 -8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg. A vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
