Margarette (Brown) Conklin

Photo of Margarette ConklinMargarette (Brown) Conklin, 88, of Duncansville and formerly of Hawk Run, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, at UPMC Altoona, Altoona.

Born September 1, 1928, in Osceola Mills, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Kathryn (Fuge) Brown.

She was married to Albert Conklin on May 20, 1950, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2013.

Margarette was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale. She was a member of her church’s Rosary Society and a former member of the West Branch Chain Ministry.

She retired from the former General Cigar plant in (North) Philipsburg after 28 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Deborah Ann Rogers; four sisters: Maxine Murray, Viola Wojtowich, Delores Eckly and Gladys Davis; one brother, Howard Brown; one infant sister, Irene; and one infant brother, John Thomas.

She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Jean Davenport and her husband, Scott, of Williamsport, Darlene Staszak and her husband, Roy, of Duncansville, and Sharon Stoltz and her husband, Mark, of (Treasure Lake) DuBois; two sisters, Noreen Sanker and her husband, Gorman, of Sheffield, Ohio, and Judy Reams and her husband, Eugene, of RD Osceola Mills; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale, with Fr. Robert J. Horgas, Celebrant

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg. The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Morrisdale.
