Photo of Betty Jean CieslarBetty Jean Cieslar, 86, of Philipsburg, died December 7, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born December 31, 1929, in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Clem Watson, Sr. and Susan (Lamb) Watson.

She was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

Betty was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist Church, of Philipsburg. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club of Philipsburg.

Betty retired as a Vice President from the former 1st. National Bank of Philipsburg, (now known as M&T Bank) after many years of service.

She enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling.

She was married at Grace United Methodist Church, of Philipsburg, to Edward R. Cieslar, who preceded her in death on February 18, 2007.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Suzanne Beth, who died at childbirth; two sisters, Dorothy Owens and Esther Johnson; and one brother, Clem Watson, Jr.

Betty is survived by one brother, Thomas L. Watson, of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom “Aunt Bets” dearly loved and cherished.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11:00 am, at Grace United Methodist Church, 912 E. Pine Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Michelle R. Bodle, Officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Grace United Methodist Church, General Fund, 912 E. Pine Street, Philipsburg, Pa 16866.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
