Jean Baker

Jean Baker, 88, of Philipsburg, died Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born September 13, 1928, in (West Moshannon) RD Houtzdale, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Delansky) Vogle.

She was a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Houtzdale.

Jean was a 1946 graduate of the former Woodward High School, Houtzdale.

She was married on October 10, 1975, to Elden D. Baker, who survives at home.

Jean is also survived by two sisters, Ida Mae Swartz and Shirley E. Zahuranec, both of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg; a nephew, William M. Vogle and his wife, Carol; a great-nephew, Jeffrey Vogle and his wife, Glenda; and a great-niece, Bonnie Riemer and her husband, Kevin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mae; and two brothers–in–law, Joseph J. Zahuranec and Michael Swartz.

There will be no public visitation at Jean’s request.

A private funeral service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with Pastor Dennis Frantz, Officiating.

Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, 180 4th.
