Kathy D. “Kate” Wilson

Kathy D. “Kate” Wilson, 71, of Philipsburg, died Friday, November 7, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Kate was born on December 21, 1953, in (North) Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Andrew D. and Ruth J. (Myers) Gallaher Trump.

Kate was employed throughout her life as a waitress and bartender for a number of area establishments including the Port Matilda Hotel, the Philipsburg Elks Lodge and several other area social clubs.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary %0437, AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary #159, the VFW Auxiliary and Home Association #3450 and the B.P.O Elks Lodge & Country Club #1173, all of Philipsburg.

Among her favorite pastimes, she was an avid Penn State Football fan.

Kate was married on March 12, 1994, in Philipsburg, to Gerald L. “Champ” Wilson, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2020.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Rothrock; a brother, Denny Gallaher; a grandson, Andrew J. Woods; a step-son, Kevin Wilson; and Ruth’s second husband, Donald Trump.

Kate is survived by a daughter, Nicole D. (Shimmel) Shaw and her husband, Robert A. Shaw, Jr., of Osceola Mills; two sons, Richard Shimmel and Matthew Shimmel and his wife, Julie, all of Wallaceton; five grandchildren: Brady M. Woods and his wife, Katilyn, of New Paris, Pa., Robert A. Shaw, III, of State College, Paige Carson and her husband, Matt, of DuBois, Wendell Shimmel, of Wallaceton, and Thomas Wilson, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a step-son, Brian Wilson, of Colorado Springs, Colo., two sisters, Kim Litz, of Clearfield and Edyee Coleman and her companion, Paul, of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Dan Gallaher, of Philipsburg and Sam Gallaher and his companion, Linda, of Wallaceton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11 am, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Rev. John Dill, officiating.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm, and on Monday, from 10 am until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
