Ralph J. Nork
Ralph J. Nork, 90, of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Ralph was born on May 25, 1936, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Edward C. and Claudia (Harvey) Norkieweicz.
He was a 1955 graduate of the Harrisburg Catholic High School.
He served with the 28th. Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
Ralph was employed for most of his working career as a real estate specialist for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of General Services. He retired in 1990 with 33 years of service to the agency.
He was married on February 9, 1973, in Philipsburg, to the former Constance I. “Connie” Verost. Connie preceded Ralph in death on August 7, 2008.
Ralph was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Sofranek and a brother, Edward Nork.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Hevel, of Palmyra, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.
He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. He was also a member and Past Exalted Ruler (PER) of the Philipsburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge & Country Club, Lodge # 1173.
Among his favorite pastimes, Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family during the holidays. He was a proud Harrisburg Catholic High graduate and looked forward to going to his class reunions. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and loved taking road trips out to the campus in South Bend, Indiana. Ralph was also blessed with the “gift of gab.” He loved talking to people whether he knew you or not and could start up a conversation with just about anyone.
The Philipsburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1173 will host an ELKS Memorial Service for Ralph on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 7:30 pm. The memorial service will take place at the pavilion adjacent to the lodge.
The Rite of Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Matthias Rendon, OFM, celebrant. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.
Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Tyrone Pike, RD Philipsburg.
