Elizabeth F. Laube

Elizabeth F. Laube, 99, of State College, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Heritage Ridge Senior Living at Windy Hill, RD Philipsburg, PA. 

Elizabeth was born on May 5, 1926, in Newark, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Ralph and Florence (Freda) Laciopa.

She was a 1944 graduate of Central High School, Newark, New Jersey.

She was employed in the retail industry throughout her working career.

Elizabeth’s first husband was James I. Mawhinney, of Pittsburgh, PA. He preceded her in death in February 1974. She was then married to Gerhardt H. Laube in June, 1977, in New York City. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2010.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Mawhinney; a sister, Marie Rinaldi; and a brother, Ralph Laciopa, in addition to her parents and two husbands.

Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Johnson and her husband, Mark, of State College and Liz Meree and her husband, Joe, of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diana Mawhinney, of Chicago, Illinois; and numerous other extended family members.        

The services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
