Larry A. Krause
Larry A. Krause, age 85, of Philipsburg, PA, went home to be with his LORD on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA after a brief illness.
He was born October 29, 1940, in Osceola Mills, PA, a son of the late Jay L. Krause and Ruth P. (Vaughn) Krause .
For over 60 years, Larry was a proud member of the Operating Engineers, Local 66. He was an avid lover of heavy equipment and began his career as a D-8 operator at the age of 17.
Larry was known as a man of prayer. Conversations, no matter how trivial would either begin or end with prayer, or with a reference to Jesus. Those who knew him best would certainly call him a Soldier of the Cross. He was a member of the New Life Center in Philipsburg. Larry found joy in both his church family, his Pastor, John Dill and in serving on the church board.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Krause and Sherman Krause.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Betty Krause; a daughter, Tammy Kephart (David), a son, Jay Krause (Diana); and three grandchildren, Travis Mostyn, of Florida, Jaleh Krause of Exton and Lindsay Krause of Philipsburg; and a brother, Dennis Krause, of Osceola Mills.
He also leaves behind two special (call me anytime, I’ll get it done) friends, Jimmy Bordas and Dawn Singer, as well as a host of other close family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the New Life Center, 111 S. 2nd Street, Philipsburg, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 3:30 pm, with Rev. John T. Dill, officiating. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. There will be a meal and time of fellowship in the church social hall following the service.
A private interment will be in Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
Flowers or memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s memory and sent to the attention of the New Life Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Philipsburg. Online condolences and memories may be submitted at www.beezerheathfh.com.
