Janet M. Covey
Janet M. Covey, 100, of Philipsburg, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Wynwood House at Salem Hill, Spring Mills.
Janet was born on August 24, 1924, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Twigg) Long.
Janet was married in 1947 to Hubert H. Covey. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry A. Covey; a sister, Jessie Ladd; and two brothers, William “Bill” and Norman Long.
She is survived by a son, Fred L. Covey and his wife, Linda, of Post Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren: Melissa A. Shulte (Daniel), of Hinesville, Ga., Heather M. Huerta (Thomas), of Stockton, Calif., Lindsey M. Cox (Cody), of Oakdale, Calif., Jaime Peterson (Bryant), of Syracuse, Utah and Jason Covey (Jackie), of Post Falls, Idaho; five great-grandchildren: Salem T. Huerta, Russell Covey, Bradley Covey, Katie Peterson and Madison Peterson; and numerous other extended family members.
Janet was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the B.P.O. Elks and Country Club, Lodge #1173, both of Philipsburg.
A memorial service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 7:00 pm, with Pastor Steven Cowfer, officiating. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm until the time of the service. The Philipsburg B.P.O.Elks Lodge #1173 will have a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 6:45 pm.
Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
