Barbara Ann “Barb” Wychryst

Barbara Ann “Barb” Wychryst, 61, of Williamsburg, and formerly of East Berlin, (Pa.), died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at UPMC Altoona.

Barbara was born on July 28, 1963, in Livonia, Michigan, a daughter of Leroy D. Swanson, of Philipsburg; and the late Patricia Louise (Craven) Swanson.

She was a 1981 graduate of the Huntington Beach High School, Huntington Beach, California.

Barbara was employed for most of her career as a customer service representative for Peterson, Howell and Heather, Hunt Valley, Maryland. She was employed with PH&H for about 32 years.

Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed singing; playing card and board games; she enjoyed watching game shows; and spending time at the beach.

She was most recently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, Pa.  

Barbara was married on June 26, 1993, at St. Clement Catholic Church, Baltimore, Maryland, to Brian E. Wychryst, who survives at home.

She is also survived by a daughter, Allison M. Wychryst, at home; a son, Sabastian R. Wychryst, of Hanover; a grandson, Carson L. Miner, at home in Williamsburg; a brother, Mark Daniel Swanson and his wife, Michelle, Beaumont, California; and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christina, in addition to her mother.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. 4th. Street, Philipsburg, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 12:15 p.m., with Rev. Matthias Rendon, OFM, celebrant.

The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the Mass.
