Anne L. Wilson

Anne L. Wilson, 95, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Houtzdale, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at HCA Florida Blake Hospital, Bradenton.

Anne was born on April 6, 1927, in Houtzdale, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Concel) Morbeto.

Anne was a graduate of the former Houtzdale High School.

She was married on December 6, 1952, at the former St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Houtzdale, to William C. “Bill” Wilson, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1987.

During her working career, Anne was employed at the Sylvania plant formerly located in Houtzdale; and as a sewing machine operator for the former Charles Navasky & Co. plant in Chester Hill.

However, most older local residents would remember that Anne and her late husband, Bill, owned and operated a seasonal roadside produce stand, Wilson’s Farm Market, for many years along Route 53 between Amesville and Madera.

Prior to moving to Florida, Anne was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. She was also a faithful member of the church’s Altar-Rosary Society.

Among her favorite pastimes, Anne loved listening and dancing to polka music. She was a longtime member of the Punxsutawney Ground Hog Polka Club.

Anne was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances P. McClarren and Teresa C. Hirchak; and six brothers: Francis P. “Frank” Morabito, Sr., Anthony “Tony” Morbeto, James Morbeto, Joseph Morbeto, Michael Morbeto and John Morbeto; in addition to her parents and husband.

She is survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other extended family members; and one nephew with whom she was especially close, Lawrence E. “Larry” Hirchak and his wife, Gwen, of Sun City Center, Florida.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 11 am, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Rev. Joseph R. Czarkowski, celebrant.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of the Mass.

Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Houtzdale.
