Betty M. Vavreck

Betty M. Vavreck, 85, of Hawk Run, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at her residence.

She was born on April 3, 1932, in Pardee, RD Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Perow) Timko.

Betty was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. She was a graduate of the former Morris Township High School. She was employed throughout her working career as a sewing machine operator; until her retirement from Charles Navasky & Co., Philipsburg. She enjoyed cooking and baking food from her Slovak heritage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret Kopchik Volk and Helen M. Timko; and three brothers: George, Steve and Alfred Timko.

Betty was married for thirty-eight years to Benedict Vavreck, who survives at home. She is also survived by one son, Andrew N. Vavreck and his wife, Peggy Shipley, of Port Matilda; and two grandchildren, Cecilia Vavreck, of Port Matilda and Alex Vavreck, of Pittsburgh.

A private funeral service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
Interment will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run.
