Summers, Jane W.Pic (2)“Our dearly loved and and cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jane Wilson Summers, 98, of Greenhills Village, State College and formerly of Philipsburg, passed quietly from this life into the arms of our Savior on Friday, February 13, 2015, in State College, PA.”

Born on October 16, 1916 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Caroline (Krimmer) Wilson.  She married Elmer G. Summers on August 22, 1942 in Altoona, PA, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1977.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, PA, where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women.  She was also formerly a member of the N.O.P Club of Philipsburg, PA.  Mrs. Summers had worked for may years at the Brown’s Boot Shop in Philipsburg, PA and was a 1935 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Louis and Robert Wilson.  She was the last of her generation.

Mrs. Summers is survived by two daughters, Joan C. Summers of State College, PA and Deborah Shimmel & her husband Roger of Philipsburg, PA.  She is also survived by: six grandchildren, Michejle Helffrich & her husband Jeff of State College, PA, Scott Binkley & his wife TracyMichele of State College, PA, David Patrick & his wife Jean of Williamsport, PA, Ashley Evilsizor & her husband Steve of Bentonville, AK, Lindsay Shimmel of Philipsburg, PA  and Justin Shimmel of Philipsburg, PA; and five great-grandchildren, Mark and Ryan Patrick both of Williamsport, PA, and Kayla, Taylor, and Kendall Binkley of State College, PA.

Funeral services will held at a future date to be announced.  Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.

There will be no public visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 465, Philipsburg, PA 16866, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
