Shirley M. Sudik
Shirley M. Sudik, 82, of Philipsburg, PA passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital in Clearfield, PA.
She was the daughter of the late George V. & Myrtle Mae (Tyler) Lobb, born on September 7, 1930. She married George Sudik, Jr. on September 30, 1951 in Brisbin, PA. He preceded her in death on April, 1, 2011.
Mrs. Sudik was member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, PA, where she was also a member of the Circle of Friends. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Philipsburg, pinochle club.
She had worked part-time for various Philipsburg businesses and was a homemaker. She was also a 1948 graduate of the Woodward Township High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sudik was preceded in death by: five sisters, Elverta Evans, Delores Fiasco, June Waltz, Helen Patterson and Camilla Kephart; two brothers, Tyler and George Lobb; and a son-in-law, Joseph Michael “Joe Mike” Williams. She was the last of her generation
She is survived by: two daughters, Cathy “Chip” Williams of Philipsburg, PA and Karen Woodrow & her husband Jeff of Carlisle, PA; a son, George “Scott” Sudik of Dover, PA; seven grandchildren, Casey Williams of Osceola Mills, Michael Williams of Washington, DC, Heather Woodrow of Columbia, SC, Ashley Woodrow of Carlisle, PA, Alexis Sudik of York, PA, Lindsey Sudik of Dover, PA and Skylar Sudik of Dover, PA; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, PA with Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA and on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
