Travis K. Straw

Travis K. Straw, 24,of West Decatur, died Friday, November 6, 2020, in Bradford Township, Clearfield County, due to a motor vehicle accident.

Travis was born on December 24, 1995, in Clearfield, a son of the late Daniel A. Straw; and Carla J. (Kephart) Straw who survives at home.

Travis was a 2014 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He furthered his education and graduated from the HVAC program at Triangle Tech, Greensburg.

Travis was a member of the IBEW, Local 126, Collegeville, Pa.; and currently employed as an apprentice lineman with Henkels & McCoy, Blue Bell, Pa., through the Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship.

In addition to his mother, Carla, and her companion, Shawn Hanns, Travis is survived by two brothers, D. Trey Straw and his fiancée, Tobi Catherine, of (Glass City) RD Philipsburg and Trevor A. Straw and his fiancée, Liz Lanager, of West Decatur; his maternal grandmother, Marilyn (Shaw) Kephart, of Osceola Mills; his paternal grandfather, James Straw, of West Decatur; his paternal uncles, Robert Straw and Larry Straw and his wife Penny, and their two daughters, Danielle (Tony) Curtorillo and Kylee Kay (Jon) Kimple; his paternal uncles, Frank Kephart and his wife Wanda and M. Paul Kephart, and his companion Valerie Keslar, along with his two sons, Dalton and Dallas Kephart.

Travis was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Morris S. “Moe” Kephart and his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Dickson) Straw, in addition to his father, Daniel.

Travis loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed riding his side by side as well as his motorcycle. He was fulfilling his dream of following in his dad’s footsteps of becoming a lineman when his young life tragically ended.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 11 am, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Timothy Richmond, officiating.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 5 to 8 pm, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Stoneville Cemetery, RD Clearfield.
