Alberta “Joan” Stephens

Alberta “Joan” Stephens, 82, of Philipsburg, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Windy Hill Village, PSL, Philipsburg.

Alberta was born on September 29, 1938, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Charles A. (Sr.) and Vivian (Rhinehart) English.

Alberta, better known as “Joan” by her family and friends, was married on June 25, 1959, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, to Thomas W. Stephens, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 18, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Lee Stephens; one sister, Sylvia “Pat” Kitko; and one brother, Charles A. English, Jr.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Pillot and her husband, Nels, of Philipsburg and Kimberly J. Raymond, of Edmond, Oklahoma; one son, William E. Stephens, of Philipsburg; two grandchildren, William Thomas Anderson and Thomas William Stephens; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Lee Anderson and Vivianna Jo Anderson; one sister; three brothers; and numerous other extended family members.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, RD Philipsburg.
