Gregory B. Stamm

Gregory Byron Stamm, 60, of Philipsburg, passed away on March 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by his wife and daughters after a courageous year and half fight against esophageal cancer.

Greg was born on January 15, 1962, in Chester, (Pa.) a son of Robert and Rosie (Hanscom) Stamm.

At the age of 16, he met the love of his life, Shirley (Breon), and they were wed on April 26, 1980, in Julian Pa. During their 41 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children: Jennifer Bainey, Jason Stamm and Jodie McClure; as well as five grandchildren: Riley Phillips, Starcia and Bentley Bainey, Gregory and Marley McClure.

Greg was known for his hard work and dedication to his job. He worked for many years at New Enterprise Stone and Lime and later moved to working as a Superintendent for HRI. Wherever he worked his reputation and dedication preceded him. While receiving treatments, he continued to work almost every day.

He enjoyed many things throughout his life. He loved to go antiquing and on trike rides with his wife. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Most weekends you would find him relaxing by a fire and enjoying the company of his family and friends. He spent the last few years of his life building their “forever home”, where his wife will continue to reside.

Besides his wife, mother, daughters and grandchildren- he is survived by his son in law, Daniel Bainey. He is also survived by three sisters: April Shannon and her husband, Timothy, of Roswell, Georgia, Sherry McClain and her husband, Brian, of Frenchville and Bobbi Jo Moses and her husband, Joseph, of Villa Rica, Georgia; and three brothers: Robert Stamm and his wife, Rhonda, of Curwensville, Carl Stamm and his wife, Tammy, of Philipsburg and Christopher Stamm and his wife, Paula, of Philipsburg.
