Erma M. Spittler

Erma M. Spittler, 100, of Philipsburg, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Windy Hill Village, PSL, Philipsburg.

Born October 20, 1916, in (Boardman) Knox Township, Clearfield Co., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Lindsay) Lockett.

She was a graduate of Clearfield High School.

Erma was married on April 17, 1937, in Rockville, Maryland, to Lloyd A. Spittler, whom preceded her in death on August 13, 1970.

Erma was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated the former Spittler’s Bar, Philipsburg. She was also formerly employed with Clearfield County government.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by one sister, Nina Bauman; and two brothers, Howard and Walter Lockett.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
