Ralph F. “Ralphie” Spencer, 53, of RD Philipsburg, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Ralph was born on August 23, 1969, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Janice L. (Pelton) Spencer; and Albert E. Spencer, who survives of RD Philipsburg.

He was a 1989 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and a member of the First Church of Christ, RD Philipsburg.

A “Jack of all Trades,” Ralph was employed with a few local businesses during his working career. He was most recently employed with Walker Lumber Company, Bigler.

Among his favorite pastimes, Ralph loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing fast pitch softball.

Ralph is survived by his companion, Gladys Wilkinson and his father, Albert, at home; one daughter, Rachael L. Spencer and her fiancé, Buddy A. Foster, Jr., of West Decatur; three grandchildren: Liam, Lucas and Layla Foster, all of West Decatur; two brothers, Michael V. Spencer, of Chambersburg and Jason A. Spencer and his fiancée, Amber Sipes, of Milesburg; one nephew, Ethan Spencer, of Milesburg; his father’s companion, Linda Mayhew, of Clearfield; and numerous other extended family members.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Janice; his maternal grandparents, Fredrick and Ethel (Miller) Pelton; paternal grandparents, Ralph E. and Esther N. (Freeman) Spencer; and a sister-in-law, Karen L. (Park) Spencer.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of Christ, 1437 Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11am, with Pastor Ryan Parish, officiating. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service.
