Margaret J. Simcox

Margaret J. Simcox, 94, formerly of Philipsburg and Chester Hill, died Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Mountain Laurel Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Margaret was born on June 17, 1924, in Osceola Mills, a daughter of the late Sarah (Greek) Webster and Fred Webster and his wife, Mary, Margaret’s step-mother.

Margaret was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. She served with several area employers during her working career. First, she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, the former Simcox Trucking Co., of Chester Hill; she was then employed with the former General Cigar plant, of (North) Philipsburg; and finally, she was employed in the cafeteria at the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School until her retirement.

Margaret was married on April 24, 1944, to Richard Simcox, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1995.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Rick Simcox; one granddaughter, Angela D. (Simcox) Fenush; and six brothers: Fred, James, Raymond, Russell, Charles and Donald Webster.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynda L. Denochick and her husband, Walter, of Kunkletown (Pa); one grandson, William L. Watro, of West Decatur; one sister, Madeline Scaife and her husband, Bill, of Osceola Mills; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous other extended and step-family members.

It was Margaret’s request that there would not be any public visitation or funeral service. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

The arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
