Alfred C. “Al” Sievers, Sr.
Alfred C. “Al” Sievers, Sr., 84, of Morrisdale and formerly of Colonia, NJ died on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
He was the son of the later Christopher & Clara (Schindler) Sievers, born on November 11, 1929 in Roselle Park, NJ. He married the former Selma H. Schmidt on January 20, 1950 in Roselle Park, NJ; she preceded him in death on November 20, 2002.
Mr. Sievers was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Operating Engineers Union, Local #825 of Newark, NJ. And he was a 1947 graduate of Roselle Park High School.
He is survived by: a daughter, Loretta L. Sanderson of Newport Beach, CA; and a son, Alfred C. Sievers, Jr. & his wife Lisa of RD Philipsburg, PA. Mr. Sievers is also survived by five grandchildren: Erica D. McDaniel & her husband Aaron of Omaha, NE; Christa M. Maney & her husband Marc of Allport, PA; Todd Sievers of Philipsburg, PA; Brian K. Sanderson and Stacy Sanderson, both of Newport Beach, CA.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public visitation.
