John F. Scott

John F. Scott, 85, of Clearfield, died peacefully Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 9:10 am, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

John was born on January 11, 1933, in (Rush Township) RD Philipsburg, a son of the late John E. and Alverta M. (Myers) Scott.

He was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School. Following high school, he served with the US Navy during the Korean War.

John was a member of the Clearfield Alliance Church, Clearfield.

John was first employed with Kimberly-Clark, Niagara Falls, New York. He was then employed with Dunlop Tire, Tonawanda, New York, until his retirement.

John was married on July 3, 1955, to the former Doris M. Mease, who survives at home. They were married for over 63 years.

He is also survived by two daughters, Lori Modrzynski and her husband, John, of Broomall, (Pa.) and Renee Tang and her husband, Walter, of Littleton, Colorado; one son, Nathan Scott, of Alameda, California; and two grandsons, Colin and Samuel.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 1:30 pm, at the Clearfield Alliance Church, 45 Alliance Road, Clearfield, with Rev. Robert Goldenberg, officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 4 to 6 pm at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg; and on Saturday, at the Clearfield Alliance Church from 10 am until the time of the funeral service.

There will be a luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the service.

Interment will be in Mock’s Hill Cemetery, West Decatur.
