Sue Schnarrs

Sue C. Schnarrs, 87, of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Sue was born on March 23, 1934, in Woodland, a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah G. (Dingey) Walker.

She was a 1952 graduate of the Clearfield High School.

Sue began her working career at the General Cigar plant formerly located in (North) Philipsburg. She was then employed as a bus driver with the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District. She then accepted a position as a cafeteria worker with the school district. Following her service with Philipsburg -Osceola, she was employed in the food service department at Penn State until her retirement.

Sue was married on October 14, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Lexington G. Schnarrs, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in law, Cynthia Marie (Selembo) Schnarrs and two sons-in-law, Jeff Lipka and Mitchell Koptchak.

Sue is survived by two daughters, Alexis S. Lipka and Kimberly A. Koptchak, both of Osceola Mills; one son, Randy W. Schnarrs, of Philipsburg; seven grandchildren: Mitchell Koptchak and his wife, Abby, Matthew Lipka, Stacy Koptchak and her fiancé, Andy, Mark Lipka and his wife, Sarah, Deanna (Schnarrs) Krause and her husband, Eric, Lex Schnarrs and Kayla Schnarrs; six great-grandchildren: Zach, Hayden, Mila, Elias, Hadassah and Sydney; and numerous other extended family members.

Among her favorite pastimes, Sue enjoyed camping and cross-country traveling during her retirement years.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 1:15 pm, at the Philipsburg Cemetery, with Rev. Timothy D. Richmond, officiating.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am until the time to depart for the cemetery.
