Judith E. Saggese

Judith E. Saggese, 71, of Bellefonte, PA and formerly of Philipsburg, PA, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA after a 36 year battle to Crohn’s Disease.

Born on February 11, 1944 in Philipsburg, PA she was a daughter of the Late Richard C. and Ann J. (Kerfoot) Kanour.  On September 25, 1976 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Morrisdale, PA, she married Gerald L. Saggese, who survives at home.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg and was a 1962 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. She had been employed as the head cashier with the Riverside Market in Philipsburg until her illness forced her retirement.

Two sons, John C. Haversack of Bellefonte, PA and Richard L. Haversack and his girlfriend, Holly Lannen of Morrisdale, PA; a sister, Joanne K. Pastir and her husband, Stephen of Philipsburg; and several nieces and nephews, survive Mrs. Saggese.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg with Rev. John Gibbons as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Philipsburg.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.  A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. followed by the rosary at 7:30 p.m., both on Wednesday at the funeral home.
