Agnes M. “Aggie” Rusnak

Agnes M. “Aggie” Rusnak, 85, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the home of her eldest son and daughter-in-law in Cochranton, PA.

Aggie was born in Madera, PA., on August 18, 1938 as the youngest child of Jacob and Agnes (Krysiak) Orges.  She found the love of her life and was married to Edward J. Rusnak on May 9, 1959 at the St. Lawrence Church in Houtzdale, PA.  Together they raised five children in Madera, PA.  As empty nesters, Ed and Aggie made their home in Philipsburg, PA.

A talented cook and baker, Aggie was famous for her Polish dishes and baked goods that delighted her family and those who were guests to her home.  Aggie was a woman of strong faith and was deeply involved in her church.  She influenced the faith lives of children as a CCD teacher for numerous years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society of which she was a past president.  Aggie  was entrusted with the honor of being a Eucharistic Minister.

After raising her five children, Aggie loved working for Christ the King Church and then with the Clearfield County Housing Authority until she was 80 years of age. She truly enjoyed her interaction and the impact she brought to those who she would meet and greet each day at work.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Rev. Mark (Tammy) Rusnak of Cochranton, PA, Gregory (Dr. Mary Rippon) of Greenville, SC, Cindy (Gary) Glass of Houtzdale, Edward (Kelly) Rusnak of Arlington, TX and Christine (John) Snyder of Philipsburg.  She is also survived by one brother, Sylvester Orges of Cleveland, OH.  Aggie was admired and treasured by her grandchildren: Francesco, Caitlan, Sean, Cian, Eric, Scott, Krista, Brent, Joseph, Adam, Maddie, Jacob and Jonathan.  Her step granddaughters, Tabitha and Lana and her step great grandsons, Max and Caleb.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Asera Hospice of Waterford for their care, compassion and kindness during Aggie’s decline of health and her passing.  Also, to Kendra Jarzenski for her love and support.
