Al Godissart

Sorry for your loss. He was my favorite teacher

Shelly Lawrence

Mr. Roxby was an excellent teacher. As a student at West Branch the lessons I learned from him, especially how to speak in public, I’ve used my entire life. Speaking in front of groups of any size has never been a problem for me thanks to him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. Thank you Mr Roxby.

Nancy Bowman (Verbeck)

I was a student in Mr. Roxby’s English class at West Branch. He was one of my favorite teachers. He once caught me passing a note and wanted to take it and there was no way I was going to give it up. I sat on it, he laughed. I am so sorry for your loss.

Our thoughts & prayers are with you

Karla “trude” Coudriet

I have no words to express my sympathy. He was, by far, the best teacher I ever had and a great mentor throughout my years at WB. He will be missed by all of his kids. He was one in a million and I’m happy to have known him. He was an amazing man and influenced a lot of kids that went through the branch. The world lost a good one.

Eric Van Dyke

Mr Roxby was among the finest teachers I have had the pleasure of having. I often tell my children about him, and explain to them, through his example, how when someone takes seriously the privilege of teaching coupled with showing compassion and consideration, they can change the world. Even if it’s just the world of a young man in a small country school who grew up to be a father of 7 children and mentor for many others. God bless you and your family during your time of loss.

Joyce Killion

Thoughts and prayers to his family. He was an inspirational teacher and instilled a love of reading in me that has continued to grow over the years. Godspeed, Mr. Roxby.

Mr. Roxby was my 9th and 10th Grade English teacher and though I struggled with Testing and Grammar rules at the time, He took the time to work with me to help me work through issues I had and Gave me a copy of an Edgar Allen Poe Collection which really lit a fire in me for reading that is still with me today. It has been a lifetime and I now have 5 kids all who love reading and a grandson who I am looking forward to sharing that passion with, and it was all thanks to a teacher who was truly one of the great influences on my life. I also have 3 college degrees now and a job I am good at and love all thanks to one teacher who cared enough to be compassionate and treat a tubby teenage boy like someone special!! I hope my children can look back and say the same about a teacher someday. Thank you Mr. Roxby and my condolences to your family!

Dawn Retorick

What a great teacher. He put the fear of God in you but we learned. Have many fond memories of wrestling season! He was always cheerful at the Outdoormans Corner. He was an all around great guy. West Branch needs more like you! Rest In Peace Mr Roxby.

Bill McKay

So sorry to hear of Bob passing. While I moved away from Philipsburg, I always enjoyed returning and stopping in to see Bob at his sports store and talk fishing. I’ll remember Bob always as an avid trout fisherman, and more importantly, as a nice person. Again, so sorry for your loss, Patti and family

Nancy Veres

Patti,
Very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We were close in so many ways – Chester Hill neighbors, coaching, teaching, Wildwood trips, wedding … We will cherish the memories we have of all the good times we spent together as families and friends. May God bless and comfort you and your son Bobby.

Mr. Roxby, you were the most wonderful teacher. Thank you for making me fall in love with the written word, the rhyme and rhythm of poetry. Rest in Peace and God bless.
