Arthur T. Roxby, Sr.
Arthur T. Roxby, Sr., 91, of Philipsburg, PA passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 at his home.
He was the son of the late George & Lillian Mae (Eustace) Roxby, born on February 21, 1922 in Inkermann, PA. He married the former June E. Price on February 8, 1941 in West Decatur, PA. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2011.
Mr. Roxby attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in West Decatur, PA and was an Army Air Corp veteran of W.W.II. He was a self employed contractor and carpenter until retiring.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Roxby was preceded in death by: six brothers, Arlington, John, George, Raymond, Elmer and James Roxby; and four sisters, Beatrice Kohn, Anna Wustrich, Lillian Lubinsky and Lenora Taber. He was the last of his generation.
He is survived by two sons, Rev. Arthur T. Roxby, Jr. & his wife Rev. Irene Roxby of Philipsburg, PA and Robert J. Roxby, Sr. & his wife Patti of Philipsburg, PA. He is also survived by: four grandchildren, Rev. Dr. Arthur T. Roxby III & his wife Allyson of Milford, DE, Christopher S. Roxby of West Decatur, PA, Rev. Patrick R. Roxby & his wife Karen of Edinborough, PA, and Robert J. Roxby Jr. of Philipsburg, PA; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
The Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA, with Rev. John Versaw officiating. Burial will be at the Mock’s Hill Cemetery in West Decatur, PA.
Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
