Judith M. “Judy” Pulsney

Judith M. “Judy” Pulsney, 79, of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Judy was born on February 11, 1944, on the family farm in Jordan Township, Clearfield Co., a daughter of the late Merrill W. and Inez R. (Curry) Dotts.

She was a 1962 graduate of the former Beccaria-Coalport-Irvona, “BCI” High School.

Judy was employed for most of her working career as a cafeteria cook with the Philipsburg – Osceola Area School District. Later in her career, she was employed as a member of the kitchen staff at Windy Hill Village, PSL, Philipsburg.

Judy was married on August 1, 1964, at the Janesville Methodist Church, to Sherman Andrew Pulsney, who survives at home.

She is also survived by two children, Scott L. Pulsney, of Lanse and Lorie A. (Pulsney) Myers and her husband, William, of West Decatur; two grandchildren, Tyler S. Pulsney and his wife, Jennifer, of Salisbury, Maryland and Taylor B. Myers, of West Decatur;

Two sisters, Carol (Dotts) Kephart and her husband, Rev. Percy Kephart and Nancy (Dotts) Zahuranec, of RD Irvona; and numerous other extended family members.

Judy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert F. “Bobby” Curry; and two brothers-in-law, Dean A. Pulsney and Ray Zahuranec, in addition to her parents.

Judy was of the Christian faith and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, in Philipsburg. When she was able, she volunteered as a nursery helper, with the youth group and with church dinners. She absolutely loved God and would talk about him to others when she had the opportunity. She had the biggest heart and always found the good in people. She had an enormous love for animals. She had numerous pets since she was a young girl that included horses, cats, dogs, and the cows and pigs that were raised on the family farm.

Judy always talked about how she couldn’t wait to see Heaven someday and how amazing that it would be. The love that she had for her family is beyond words. She was their entire world just as they were to her. She left a legacy that will be remembered for generations.

Among her favorite pastimes, Judy faithfully read her Bible daily. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and looking for new recipes in her cookbooks and magazines. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, taking care of her house plants and enjoying a cup of tea while sitting on the porch with her husband, “Sherm”. She also enjoyed going for rides in the car and stopping for ice cream. Judy enjoyed the simple things in life and relished the holidays when she knew that she could cook, bake and spend time with the entire family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, 214 E. Beaver Street, Philipsburg, with Pastor Ted G. Seibert, officiating.
