Edna G. Prohaska
Edna B. Prohaska, 88, of Philipsburg, PA and formerly of Gearhartville, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, PA.
She was the daughter of the late Rebecca G. Beals, born on June 7, 1924 in Moshannon, PA.
She was a protestant by faith and devoted her life to her children and family.
Edna had been employed as a fore-lady with the General Cigar Company in Philipsburg, retiring after 34 years of services. She was a 1942 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a grandson, Doug; and 13 brothers & sisters. She was the last of her generation.
She is survived by: a daughter, Janice Kizer & her husband Dennis of Mechanicsburg, PA; two sons, Terry Prohaska & his wife Linda of Philipsburg, PA and Pete Prohaska of Gearhartville RD Philipsburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Scott, Jodi, Michelle, Kristi and Chad; six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA, with Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating. Burial will be at the Askey Cemetery in Moshannon, PA.
Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
